Ditch the dirty wellies, grab your toga and get down to Edenside to celebrate four weeks of historic discovery.

Four weeks of digging, scraping, sifting and washing come to an end at Edenside next weekend (October 7th) when archaeologists wind up the Roman bath house excavation.

Scores of volunteers, including many club members, have taken part in this exciting project, trying to find out how an elite, 1,000 strong Roman cavalry unit relaxed and entertained itself in the evening!

So to celebrate, we are hosting a party in the pavilion on Friday evening (October 6th) from 6pm, with all volunteers and cricket club members welcome. Togas are optional!

Frank and his team from Wardell Armstrong will have some of the most exciting finds on display, while David Moore, who has supplied cakes and soup every day of the dig, will provide the buffet.

Come and talk to the experts and find out what the future may hold for the bath house and for the club.
