Brilliant T20 campaign ends in semi final defeat to overall winners, Keswick.
Sadly, Carlisle’s talented u-19 side bowed out at the semi final stage at Fitz Park in Keswick yesterday but can look back on a magnificent campaign.
Carlisle Cobras were up against eventual winners Keswick Lakehawks in the second semi final after Egremont had beaten Furness in the first game.
The home side batted first making 142, thanks largely to Stephen Moss, unbeaten on 54, James McGown, 22, and Charlie Robson, 18.
Henry Walker was the pick of the Cobras’ bowling, taking 3-19 from four overs.
Carlisle’s batting never really got into gear, with captain Ben Davidson top scoring with 24. It left Carlisle 44 runs short, all out for 98.
But this team has several years of this competition left, and can reflect on a summer of thrills, spills and skills that demonstrated the best of the club’s thriving junior production line.
Congratulations to Keswick, and commiserations to Carlisle, Egremont and Furness. Lets do it all again next summer.
