10-wicket home win for Thirds.
Report by skipper, Lee Hogarth.
After a rain effected delay both captains agreed to reduce overs to 24 to try and get a game in with more rain forecast for later in the afternoon.
After winning the toss we inserted Temple Sowerby and in Will’s first over we made an early breakthrough – and that was the start of steady wickets falling with only Steels and Mounsey making it into the 20s. They were all out for 78.
Bearing in mind that the weather was due to change Temple Sowerby’s captain agreed to our request of leaving tea and getting back out and and getting on with the game.
Harry and Cam then went out and were given no real problems as they duly knocked off the runs required with ease in 13.3 overs, Harry 44 and Cam 24 giving us a 10 wicket win and a valuable 8 points in our search for promotion.
Next week brings Lanercost to Edenside where another win would really shake things up at the top of the table.
