Accolades for top volunteers at Carlisle CC.

Three long-standing Carlisle CC volunteers have won Outstanding Service to Cricket Awards in Cumbria and have been invited to Lord’s next week to celebrate.

Scorer Geoffrey Osborne receives recognition for several years of following the first team and chronicling their every encounter.

Bryan Laidlow, our junior co-ordinator, is similarly rewarded for his commitment to the development of junior cricket at Carlisle CC.

While Mike Rayson receives a special award for his efforts in leading flood recovery at Edenside in the wake of Storm Desmond.

Although Bryan is away on holiday, Mike and Geoff will party with other winners from across the country at a dinner attended by current England internationals.

No doubt both will let the world know what kind of club we have and what we’ve done to recover from the devastation of flooding.

More importantly, have a great time on a well deserved day out.
